How AI is changing my media diet

...and how it could do the same for you...

Do you wake up to the radio? Flip through the newspaper over breakfast? Scroll social media during your commute? Listen to podcasts at the gym?

Whatever your media diet looks like, I’m willing to bet AI will be part of it soon.

Why? Because we just wrapped up our first applied AI experiment, and it’s already changing how I consume information.

For the past two weeks, I’ve been getting a daily digest straight to my inbox. It’s not just any digest—it’s a curated summary of all the newsletters and articles I haven’t had time to read, neatly tagged according to five trends I’m tracking in the digital information landscape. (Curious about those trends? You can check them out here!)

Honestly, it’s been a bit of a game-changer. It’s given me a clear view of what my go-to thought leaders are discussing and helped me zero in on the content that really matters. It’s also opened up new ways for me to use AI to dig into policy reports or explore topics from fresh perspectives.

This little AI project was made possible through the expertise of Nick Scott, who’s made a short video that walks through the technical steps behind creating my digest. If you’re a bit of a techie—or just curious—take a look!

So, what’s next?

Maybe this is something you’d like to try yourself. If you’re interested in exploring a pilot—whether for you personally or your organisation - do let us know.

I’m going to keep this digest running and log everything in an Airtable database. That way, in a few months, we can look back over all these tagged articles and start spotting emerging trends or hidden patterns.

The truth is, I think we’ll see more and more of this kind of tailored media consumption. If you’re feeling the pressure to keep up with all the newsletters, articles, and reports piling up, our experiment shows this approach can help.

It’s only going to get easier for organisations to spin up different content formats from one source—think reports that turn into dynamic articles, podcasts, or even interactive FAQs generated by AI. That’s what we’ll dive into in experiment three in a few weeks, but next up, we’ll explore how AI can analyse large datasets for strategic insights.

As always, if any of this piques your interest, let’s chat. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
